So far we have not heard demand for this feature from web developers nor users though
Firefox has it.
Since this is not light-weight workload feature, still nice to have.

In Visual Studio Code you can do multiple range select either by holding Option (macOS) and selecting multiple selections or Command+Option+Shift for select multiple lines in a line. Even the fact VSCode use Chrome underneath they had to implement these for themselves but I think it is better to support the feature bring it to a wider audience on the web, if such thing was available online code editors could also offer it to their users.
