History Search Does Not Find Applicable Entries

Reported by machineg...@gmail.com, Jun 9 2018

Issue description

Chrome Version :
Google Chrome	67.0.3396.79 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Revision	161bdad7314804dc8c72f850396fcd696e8863e8-refs/branch-heads/3396@{#755}

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Visit a page
(2) The next day, search for a keyword in that page's title
(3) Do not see the page in results
(4) Manually scroll down to the history entry for the page
(5) It's there

What is the expected result?

Searching for a keyword in a visited page's title should show the history entry for that page

What happens instead?

The page (visited yesterday) does not show up in the search; you have to manually scroll through the history to see it.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

The attached screenshots show:

A) my history results when I scroll down to yesterday; clearly the "Insignia Voice Smart ... *Alarm* Clock ..."

B) my search results when I search for "alarm"; note that my visit to the same page today *does* show up (even though I searched "alarm" and the title includes "Alarm", capital) ... but my entry from yesterday is completely missing

The page in question was https://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-voice-smart-bluetooth-speaker-and-alarm-clock-with-the-google-assistant-built-in-black/5865801.p?skuId=5865801&ref=199&loc=0JlRymcP1YU&acampID=1&siteID=0JlRymcP1YU-R.8xdWrq.ucJtSBUcpBB1w (although it doesn't seem like there's anything special about that page that would cause a bug).

Sorry, 'clearly the "Insignia Voice Smart ... *Alarm* Clock ..."' should say 'clearly the "Insignia Voice Smart ... *Alarm* Clock ..." is present'.

Unable to reproduce this issue on reported version 67.0.3396.79 using Windows 10, Ubuntu 17.10 and Mac 10.13.3 with steps mentioned in comment#0. Attaching screenshots for reference. i.e; entries are seen on searching and manually scrolling.

@Reporter: Please check the screenshots and let us know if we miss anything. Please check the issue on fresh profile which do not have any apps/extensions and also let us know on which OS you are seeing this issue. Any further information on reproducing the issue would help in further triaging.

Thanks!

I'm using Linux Mint, not Windows. As for checking the issue with a profile that has no extensions, that would be impossible, because any fresh profile wouldn't have history.

The best I can tell you is that I very clearly saw a history entry that didn't come up in the search results. However, this bug clearly requires some other condition, or else it'd be easily reproducible. If you don't see an obvious cause, and there's no way to send you a dump of my history data, then this just might not be fixable.
