Investigate AR tracking pause/resume functionality when losing focus to ensure good UX |
||||||||||||
Issue descriptionWe might have to spend time re-orienting the device each time we resume ARCore. For example, switching frames or switching back to an AR-capable tab. We need to determine how long does it take for ARCore to re-orient itself when resumed in the same area as when it was paused. What if the device has been rotated? If this is a non-trivial amount of time, we may need to consider the UX impact and potentially add a delay before pausing when we lose focus.

This is blocked on the resolution of AR-Mode, since it may be impossible to lose focus during a session if AR-mode is always fullscreen: https://github.com/immersive-web/privacy-and-security/blob/d1a8ded7262e7d3d8c368fd57093a69b5fc53536/ARModeExploration.md |
