Issue descriptioncomment from asvitkine: """ Symptoms are that I can interact with UI and open tabs, but nothing in content area updates (new tabs don't load, etc). """ see: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=808031#c113, which also has a CPU sample.

Here's another sample. Content unresponsive for a few minutes. 300% browser cpu use.

Thank you! Same symptoms as the last set - all I'm seeing is network and extension related code. + xunjieli, morlovich - any insight into what's going on?

Do you mean TabSpecificContentSettings::CookiesRead / CannedBrowsingDataCookieHelper::AddCookie, or am I reading it wrong? That's the thing that updates the list of cookies loaded in the page for the UI. (Click on the lock -> Cookies). Doesn't really look like it does anything that expensive. I guess checking if some tab has 500,000 cookies or something may be revealing, but that seems like an invitation to RSI for a typical tab count expected from a colleague.

asvitkine: Do you regularly click on the lock icon? I'm curious if there's another code path causing TabSpecificContentSettings::CookiesRead / CannedBrowsingDataCookieHelper::AddCookie to be called so much.

CookiesRead isn't referring to a human looking at cookies, its collecting information on computer looking at cookies so it can show to the human. References: https://cs.chromium.org/search/?q=TabSpecificContentSettings::CookiesRead&sq=package:chromium |
