As per comment #0, this seems to be a feature request. Hence, marking it as untriaged for further inputs from dev team. Thanks...!!

This seems to be a request that on GTK we respect system config bits about the tab font. I'm a bit skeptical that we want to respect these, but kicking this over to thomasanderson for an opinion.

We already do get the system font from GTK, but it's the global one. So it would be the same font used for active/inactive tabs. OP which GTK theme are you using? And could you post a screenshot of a tabbed app like gnome-terminal showing how the text looks when there's multiple tabs? We've mostly been letting Chrome decide the look-and-feel of anything tab-related, so I'm not sure I'd want to make an exception for this specific case.

it's not about the theme. I already set bold font as my active window title font, but this did not apply to chromium with window hidden (tabs only mode). Come on, to me it is just a one-line code change: simply change the active tab title to be bold. my only request. Also, you can add this option in chrome://flags. Thanks!

What exactly did you do to set the bold font as the window title font?

Noto Sans Bold

What did you do to change it? What file?

It was LXDE configuration. no idea where the file is.

Hm, I see. That setting has to do with the window title, which Chrome does not have. So it seems this request is for Chrome to always make the active tab text bold. Unfortunately, we're unlikely to do this (Like you said, it's a simple change. So if we were going to do it, we'd have done it already.), so I'm closing this issue.

no, i didn't say 'always'. you should at least give a flag option to users. |
