Mitigate user impact of background throttling on sites like GSuite |

Issue descriptionAs we work on throttling/pausing background tabs on desktop platforms (issue 709082), it's important that we work with sophisticated sites like GSuite to ensure they have a reasonable plan for accommodating any changes without significant detriment to the user experience. Obviously we will balance the tradeoffs here without relying on any sort of whitelist or site-specific hacks.

@panicker: is there anything actionable about this bug, other than "make sure to take into account gsuite"? Close the bug?

An important upcoming intervention is freezing on desktop - chrisha@ and team are driving this now. We opted out Gsuite from it already. So this bug is more about future iterations. I'm not sure that we need this bug, as we are already collaborating with them, and have regular syncs etc. Assigning to chrisha@ to chime in. |
