Google Chrome Browser App - Not Saving 'Desktop Site' Setting

Reported by gage...@gmail.com, Jun 1 2018

Issue description

This effects all Chromebooks:

I just purchased a used chromebook and love the simplicity and speed.  I have been installing Google Play apps, such as Maps, Hangouts, Gmail, etc.  They look cleaner in the app format, rather than opening in the Google Chrome Browser.

The one app should be updated, is the Google Chrome App from playstore running on Chromebooks.  I like it better, because it's synced with my Tablet on Android.  My most visited websites are listed and has a better design, in my opinion.

However, the Desktop Site setting, doesn't stay checked.  So, if I close a tab, I need to re-check that setting again when opening a site again.  Some sites look narrow without that setting enabled.  My tablet, I rarely request a desktop site.

So, my feedback, would for at least the Chromebook, is be able to use the Chrome App Browser primarly and make it so that the Desktop Site setting is checked by default.  It makes sense.

Alternatively, another fantastic idea, would be able to just run Android on the Chromebook.  I'd like that, since I'm only using the apps and Google Chrome anyway.  It's like a giant tablet with a keyboard now.

Thanks!
