m22tanker@ Thanks for the issue. In reply to comment #2, it is just a process we follow for tracking purpose. Tested this issue on Windows 10 on the reported version 67.0.3396.62 and the latest Canary 69.0.3446.0 by following the below steps. 1. Launched Chrome 66.0.3359.181 added 'Dark Theme v3' theme. 2. Updated Chrome to the latest Stable 67.0.3396.62 and can see the minimize/maximize/close buttons without any issues. Attached is the screen cast for reference. Request you to provide the details of the theme which you have added to chrome. Also request you to retry the issue on a new chrome profile without any apps/extensions and update the thread with the observations. Thanks..

Thanks for the explanation and for pointing me in the right direction. You're spot on! If I disable my theme, the buttons can be seen. The theme I've been using is at the following URL. I'm Navy veteran and like that theme and have used it for many years. I can't seem to find how to contact them to see if they can fix it. Any suggestions? https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/americas-navy-aircraft-ca/flihflmbfkldfloladklgkhmaamapccl

Able to reproduce this issue on Windows 10 on the latest Canary 69.0.3449.0 and latest Stable 67.0.3396.62 as per comment #4. This issue is observed when adding the theme 'America's Navy Aircraft Carrier' on Windows 10. Unable to repro the issue on Mac OS and Ubuntu 14.04. Bisect Information: =================== Good Build: 67.0.3377.0 (Revision - 544610) Bad Build : 67.0.3378.0 (Revision - 544931) By running the chromium bisect script, all builds were crashing. Hence below is the changelog URL from Omahaproxy. https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+log/67.0.3377.0..67.0.3378.0?pretty=fuller&n=10000 From the above Changelog, suspecting the below change: Reviewed-on: https://chromium-review.googlesource.com/971582 malaykeshav@ Please check and confirm if this issue is related to your change, else help us in assigning to the right owner. Adding ReleaseBlock-Stable as this is a recent regression. Please feel free to remove if it is not applicable. Thanks

+People working on touchable chrome and birthday refresh. Is this an intended change? I recall there was a bug that was tracking how the new design interacted the custom themes.

Bret, can you check this? Wondering if the immediate cause here is Win 10 custom titlebar, and if the reason the custom titlebar is picking a poor glyph color + not drawing a background color in the unhovered state are both because of the theme (e.g. theme claims the frame color is light and doesn't request a button background). If so this is probably WontFix "theme is at fault", but if not, we should fix, since 67 is going stable Real Soon Now and I wouldn't want to break more themes than we have to.

Thank you malaykeshav@ & pkasting@ for taking a look. M67 (67.0.3396.62) already went out to stable for small percentage of users on Win/Mac and 100% Linux on last Tuesday (05/29). We're planning M67 stable respin release tomorrow which include critical bug fixes. Pls let us know ASAP if this is indeed M67 stable blocker.

I just downloaded the theme and examined it. Like comment #8 hypothesized, it doesn't set a frame color or a button background color, so we use the default colors (which are light). To double check, I set "frame" to (0, 0, 0) and the glyphs were white as expected. The theme needs to be updated.

Thanks, all for looking into this. Can anyone suggest how I can contact the owner of this theme to see if they can fix this problem? Couldn't find anything in the Chrome store.

Can someone explain why I can see the buttons in an incognito window?

#11: The theme data looked really old, so I'm not hopeful the owner is reachable... You can also try creating a new theme with the same images. I would start searching for the files in C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Profile 1\Extensions. All the pictures (the aircraft carrier, the textured frame background, etc) should be in a folder called "images". #12: Incognito uses different, dark defaults.

Thank you, bsep! I have no idea how to create my own theme. I'm a senior citizen and did not grow up with computers. Is it hard to do?

#14: Currently the easiest way is to use a website to help, like https://www.themebeta.com/chrome-theme-creator-online.html. I'm very sorry for the trouble this has caused you!

Thanks, bsep. No problem. Looks like the owner has no interest in updating it, sadly. |
