Did a quick check on ToT Chromium with setting of small display text size, but I have a different button style from that in the above screenshot.

pbos@ - Would you be able to provide your "Variations" section from chrome://version so that we can gain more information whether this is in a certain experiment?

I think these have probably been inconsistent forever (>months), I just didn't file it before and most people probably use the default Display size. One of these might be sized in pixels instead of dips.

In Android set: Settings > Display > "Display size: Small".

(Font size is still Default.)

I can provide the variations but I don't think they are relevant as I've seen it on other devices earlier.

I believe dimich@'s team owns that feature and can triage!
