GetUserMedia fails to get the default microphone upon adding two or more external microphones |
|||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: M65, M67, M68 [Older bug] OS: CrOS Yuna Falco This is behavior is not reproducible in Santa or Carline. These are fairly new devices when compared to Yuna and Falco. Risk: This could be available many older chrome devices. What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Plug an external camera and a 3.5 jack in DUT. (2) Open chrome://settings/content/camera or any webapps like meet. (3) Click on the drop down for microphone What is the expected result? Lists all the live microphones in the devices. ie default microphone (built in), camera microphone and a microphone from 3.5 jack head set. What happens instead? Even though we see three microphones, in fact both external and Built-in camera the means the same ie the microphone of external camera. This is not the case if we have only one external microphone is attached. This leads to a limitation that we cannot use the builtin camera if having more microphones connected to DUT. This issue was found in M68 but seems to be reproducible in many older chrome versions. Thus its a not very high priority bug. Headset: Kingston HyperX Cloud II Gaming-headset External Camera: Logitech HD Webcam C310

I added an additional camera along with the description mentioned above. I have ended up seeing only the last microphone (from camera 2) and my headset 3.5 mm. Microphones from first camera and builtin (internal) microphone is not in the drop down. For some reason showing only the recent microphones.

Moving to OS>Kernel>Audio since it looks like a CrOS-specific issue. Please bounce back to me if you think it's a getUserMedia() issue. |
