Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/66.0.3359.181 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to any of the following known problem websites: YouTube, Dailymotion, Facebook 2. Copy any URL to the clipboard 3. Click in the address bar and IMMEDIATELY press Ctrl+V to paste it, then press Enter. What is the expected behavior? Chrome should to visit the pasted URL. What went wrong? Chrome visits the URL of the current page you are on instead. Did this work before? Yes Unknown, a few months ago (early 2018, I believe) Chrome version: 66.0.3359.181 Channel: stable OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 29.0 r0 The bug requires a quick (<1 sec, I think) pasting following clicking in the address bar. The bug can be worked around by pasting the URL into the address bar, deleting it then pasting it again. The bug does not seem to affect all websites, including Google. I have tried replicating the bug in incognito mode, but I cannot. I then tried turning on extensions in incognito mode one-by-one to rule them out, but no extension was able to trigger the bug alone in incognito mode. I did not get to try The Great Suspender extension, because enabling it in incognito mode caused me to lose my tabs. I was also not able to replicate it on a second Windows machine with Google Chrome.

I am also able to reproduce this, but only in my Chrome instance, and not in Chromium. I don't use Chromium often so maybe this is because my search history is much smaller. Since you need to paste fairly quickly after entering the address bar, I used CTRL + L followed by CTRL + V in very quick succession. Pasting works as expected for a split second and then the search dropdown appears to load in results for the current page, as if it was still working on generating those when the paste took place. See attached video. Version 66.0.3359.181 (Official Build) (64-bit) macOS 10.13.4 (17E199)

I forgot to add this into my comment, but since I reproduced this in macOS, it should maybe be labelled as a cross platform issue rather than a Windows one?
