window.open in html page loaded in chrome custom tabs cannot redirect to android app url scheme without any user action

Chrome Version       : 55.0.2883.91
URLs (if applicable) : Cannot disclose because of privacy policy
Other browsers tested: NA
  Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:
     Safari: NA
    Firefox: NA
       Edge: NA

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) First open any html page in chrome custom tabs from app activity
(2) From html page redirect user to another html page for getting result
(3) On getting results in previous html page redirect to app url scheme using
    Window.open(app_url_scheme?results)

What is the expected result?
Android app with given url scheme will be open with results parameter

What happens instead?
We get error Navigation is blocked while redirect user to app_url_scheme without user action.
