Adobe Animate CC canvas missing character in Chrome

Reported by bsamin...@gmail.com, May 25 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0

Example URL:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Hello,

(sorry if this post is duplicated but my last post seems not to be published).

Since the last Chrome update we have been experiencing a weird issue.

We develope interactive animations via Animate CC, Output canvas. Suddenly the character "i" got a weird behaviour, nor rendering in an apparently inconsistent way.

This happend at least with Titillium (16px) and Arial (14px) as far as we know. We suspect that this happens to sans-serif fonts with "thin" characters .

As you can see in this thread we are not the only ones to suffer this issue.

We have made tests in different machines an OS with the same results.

Firefox and Safari render OK.

Adobe CAU was not able to give me a solution.

Our clients are being very upset as they can't understand the issue.

Thanks

Doesn't fail in Firefox 60.0.1 but does in Chrome. Installation appears corrupted.

Author: Stephen White <senorblanco@chromium.org>

GrTessellator: fix for overlapping outer boundary edges in AA case.

When inflating outer path boundaries for edge AA, two outer boundary
edges may be collinear. In this case, they form part of the overlap
region, but they must not be removed on collapse, since they form
part of the outer boundary of the shape.

Able to reproduce the issue on win-10 using chrome build without fix.

Verified the fix on Win-10 and Ubuntu 17.10 using Chrome version #69.0.3451.0 as per the comment #0 and #2.
Attaching screen shot for reference.
Observed that Adobe Animate CC canvas did not miss any character in Chrome.
