Color profile based rendering doesn't work

Reported by adryd....@gmail.com, May 24 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/66.0.3359.181 Safari/537.36

Example URL:

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open any webpage with vivid colors
2. Open another browser that renders colors properly based on the color profile (eg. Firefox)

What is the expected behavior?
Colors will by default render in the monitors color profile (in my case that's Display P3 D65)

What went wrong?
Chrome ignores both the default and #force-color-profile options and renders in sRGB

Does it occur on multiple sites: N/A

Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A

Did this work before? Yes Chrome 60

Does this work in other browsers? N/A

Chrome version: 66.0.3359.181 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.13.1
Flash Version:

This is most noticeable on computers with a better display profile than sRGB. This was done on a Macbook Pro using color sync utility to compare the colors. It's hard to tell in the image because of limitations of macos screenshots and stuff

note that this doesn't work even when the force color profile flag is not set, or set to srgb

Firefox does not display colors correctly on macOS. Safari and Chrome do. If you prefer the colors in Firefox, then set your monitor to be sRGB in Display properties.
