Dragging a folder and dropping it on itself gives an error |
||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: ToT (Will be in 68 if not fixed by branch point this Thursday) What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Open the File Manager (2) Drag a file (3) Let go of the file anywhere in the RHS panel What should happen? Nothing. What happens instead? An error is shown: "Move failed. The file could not be modified". This is a regression, so we should do a bisect if possible.

Not sure what ToT was here at the time of the report. Do you happen to remember the Chrome version & revision? I tested ToT as of right now, chell device, 68.0.3439.0 crrev.com/561087, and no reproduction, so maybe it's fixed already. Maybe try the steps and again & let me know if you're still seeing the problem.

Yup, still happening on 68.0.3439.0. Happens for both local Downloads and Google Drive folder. Haven't tested on a device, this is happening locally on Linux.

Try on a device, no repro on chell.

/me just synced to ToT Linux target_os="chromeos", 68.0.3439.0, crrev.com/561301. Clean & build (ninja -C out/Release -t clean && ninja -C out/Release chrome) and then run ./out/Release/chrome --user-data-dir=/tmp/foobar No repro for me :/

Weifang - could I clarify the following behaviours (you should be able to repro on any version): 1) Long-press on a folder on the RHS, drag it, drop it on itself Result: "Move failed. The file could not be modified" What should happen instead? No error? 2) Long-press on a file on the RHS, drag it over another file on the RHS Result: "Moving 1 files" flashes on the LHS What should happen instead? No error? This might be two separate bugs. Removing Regression label, since after clarifying the repro steps I can repro on 66.
