Issue description
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/66.0.3359.139 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. get many participants (20-40 people) to involve with STT and translate using Google APIs to test the load
2. Observe and will notice the STT and Translation stream stopped working some points during the 20-30 minutes conversation
3.
What is the expected behavior?
What went wrong?
today we did some control load testing. We had up to 20 people using the service at the same time or 40 participants. 3 times the stream from Google APIs stopped. After about 5 seconds the streams started working again. We need to make sure this can scale. Below is the error we got and was wondering if anyone had any insight it to why this happened when we got up to 40 streams at the same time.
This is what's returned from the gce instance:
{"code":8,"metadata":{"_internal_repr":{"google.rpc.help-bin":[{"type":"Buffer","data":[10,111,10,32,71,111,111,103,108,101,32,100,101,118,101,108,111,112,101,114,32,99,111,110,115,111,108,101,32,65,80,73,32,107,101,121,18,75,104,116,116,112,115,58,47,47,99,111,110,115,111,108,101,46,100,101,118,101,108,111,112,101,114,115,46,103,111,111,103,108,101,46,99,111,109,47,112,114,111,106,101,99,116,47,51,56,50,54,48,55,49,56,53,52,55,51,47,97,112,105,117,105,47,99,114,101,100,101,110,116,105,97,108]}],"grpc-status-details-bin":[{"type":"Buffer","data":[8,8,18,156,1,73,110,115,117,102,102,105,99,105,101,110,116,32,116,111,107,101,110,115,32,102,111,114,32,113,117,111,116,97,32,39,68,101,102,97,117,108,116,95,71,114,111,117,112,39,32,97,110,100,32,108,105,109,105,116,32,39,67,76,73,69,78,84,95,80,82,79,74,69,67,84,45,49,48,48,115,39,32,111,102,32,115,101,114,118,105,99,101,32,39,115,112,101,101,99,104,46,103,111,111,103,108,101,97,112,105,115,46,99,111,109,39,32,102,111,114,32,99,111,110,115,117,109,101,114,32,39,112,114,111,106,101,99,116,95,110,117,109,98,101,114,58,51,56,50,54,48,55,49,56,53,52,55,51,39,46,26,152,1,10,35,116,121,112,101,46,103,111,111,103,108,101,97,112,105,115,46,99,111,109,47,103,111,111,103,108,101,46,114,112,99,46,72,101,108,112,18,113,10,111,10,32,71,111,111,103,108,101,32,100,101,118,101,108,111,112,101,114,32,99,111,110,115,111,108,101,32,65,80,73,32,107,101,121,18,75,104,116,116,112,115,58,47,47,99,111,110,115,111,108,101,46,100,101,118,101,108,111,112,101,114,115,46,103,111,111,103,108,101,46,99,111,109,47,112,114,111,106,101,99,116,47,51,56,50,54,48,55,49,56,53,52,55,51,47,97,112,105,117,105,47,99,114,101,100,101,110,116,105,97,108]}]}}}

The comment looks like you believe that we're using they speech api from a web browser. We're not. We're using the node.js module @google-cloud/speech to stream data to them and get results from them. Hope that clarifies? Please let me know if you need more information.

we are using a web app that connects to our server which is hosted in GCE. All audio is streamed to our server first and then sent to google for processing. attached are the logs with time stamps of when we saw a drastic delay in the response from the speech to text server.
