[User Feedback - Stable] "Google Input Tools" not updating, giving an error "No Update Is Available"

Project Member Reported by melodychu@chromium.org, May 18 2018

Issue description

Chrome Version: 66.0.3359.181
OS: Windows (all)

User reports that they are not able to install "Google Input Tools"; when they try to install it they'll see an error of "No Update Is Available". The language called out indicates this may only be happening for Hindi.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Not sure, but see https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/chrome/wujJgaF5_Ao/94LQQMgrAQAJ for a screenshot.

Hi. It's a long shot…but check the setup file has May 9 signatures.
(Please see image)

That’s the day:

1.Laptop stopped charging + 2.Kept it plugged on for 5 days + 3.attempted a system restore + 4.charging was restored + 5.Sys restore went wrong + 6.did RESET of it + 7.Tried to install GoogleInputTools + 8.produced the strange error + 9.Cleared traces of google and it was no different.

The "InputToolsSetup" application brings up the installer but leads to the message "no update is available"
Please resolve it

IMPORTANT - You may restore the Google systems to before may 9th please. See attached file.

InputToolsSetup.exe
1.1 MB Download
I'm facing this exact issue but with Persian/Farsi language.
Following the "On Windows" link (https://www.google.com/inputtools/windows/) from the product page, leads to a 404 error page and using the installation file (downloaded 6 months ago or so of course) gives nothing but the aforementioned "No update is available" message.
Could it be an IP issue?
When will this issue be solved?
Looks like google discontinued inputtools for windows inorder to boost their chrome os. it it's true shame on you google. The url https://www.google.com/inputtools/windows/ is not even available.

If google planned to discontinue input tools it should be notified earliest.
So its gonna be premium than?..
Hey all, quickly closing the loop here.

We have been in touch with the Google Input Tools team and have confirmed that the Windows application is no longer available for download or installation.

Instead, the team recommends you install the Google Input Tools Chrome extension as an alternative:
https://www.google.com/inputtools/chrome/

If you would like to provide feedback about this change, please do so by visiting the Google Input Tools website and selecting "submit feedback" at the bottom of the page:

Thanks!

MARK AS BEST ANSWER: download input tools from http://bhashaindia.com/Downloads/Pages/newpage.aspx which is a microsoft collaboration.

See I took download under ‘Indic Input-3’ for “Hindi – 64 bit”. There’s an accompanying help file which tells about inputting complex characters.
