I'm not very familiar with the GPO inner workings. nrpeter@, do you have any insight here?

+ljusten@ who wrote the AD management of ChromeOS policies code Looking at policy_templates.json I don't see why ExtensionSettings isn't exposed as a ChromeOS policy in the GPO template. The ExtensionInstallBlacklist policy is visible in the ChromeOS GPO template but not ExtensionSettings. The only difference between these two policies I can see is that ExtensionSettings is type 'dict' while ExtensionInstallBlacklist is type 'list'.

The Help Center article points to an obsolete version. The one from https://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-templates (in the 'Chrome OS' folder) should be used. I verified that ExtensionSettings shows up with the latest templates. I've spun up b/109642517 to track the Help Center update. Assigning back to ryutas@ for tracking.

Hello, I downloaded the latest stable ChromeOS ADMX files from the provided link and confirmed ExtensionSettings is still not available to configure (see attached screenshot). I have not tried the Beta or Dev ADMX files, although I can if instructed to.

It's called "Extension management settings". The ADMX templates never displays the (internal) policy name (ExtensionSettings), but the caption (Extension management settings). See: https://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#ExtensionSettings The caption is displayed right below the policy name there.
