Copying large amount of HTML to the clipboard using clipboardData.setData('text/html', ...) fails

Issue descriptionSteps to reproduce the problem: Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Navigate to https://jsfiddle.net/SamMiller/vb7yzwy7/ on Chrome in Android. 2. Tap on the copy button which should copy a large amount of html to the clipboard. 3. An android native message bubble will appear at the bottom of the screen saying "Failed to copy to the clipboard". What is the expected behavior? The large amount of HTML should be copied to the clipboard. What went wrong? Nothing is copied to the clipboard and a native message bubble appears at the bottom of the screen saying "Failed to copy to the clipboard". Did this work before? N/A Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 66.0.3359.158 Channel: stable OS Version: 8.1.0 Flash Version: This bug is related to https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=699067, but I've raised a separate one here on the grounds that copying HTML to the clipboard should work.

Tested the issue using #66.0.3359.156 on Pixel 2; 8.1.0 and could observe Failed to copy to the clipboard as per the steps mentioned below. Steps: 1. Launched Browser 2. Navigate to https://jsfiddle.net/SamMiller/vb7yzwy7/ on Chrome in Android. 3. Tap on the copy button which should copy a large amount of html to the clipboard. 3. An android native message bubble is observed at the bottom of the screen saying "Failed to copy to the clipboard". Observing the same behavior since M60. Untriaged for further inputs Please navigate to below link for log's and screen cast and screenshot of the error -- go/chrome-androidlogs/843098 Issue is seen in M68 as well Thanks!!

Sorry, I really don't understand what's different from Issue 699067. This issues seems to cover the same code and the same error. |
