Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_4) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/66.0.3359.170 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to any page with a fixed element 2. In devtools, inspect any node whose bounding box intersects that fixed element's 3. Cmd-Shift-P, choose "Capture node screenshot" What is the expected behavior? Screenshot should only contain that node itself What went wrong? Screenshot has a clipped version of the fixed position element occluding the node Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 66.0.3359.170 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.13.4 Flash Version: "Capture full size screenshot" also plays badly with fixed position elements – they appear in a position relative to the screen size at time of capture (i.e., if you have bottom: 0 then it will be in the middle of the captured screenshot); I would expect them to appear positioned relative to the full image or not at all.

Thank you for filing the issue! "Capture node screenshot" is actually "capture screenshot of node's rect", and it includes any elements overlapping with it. We are not going to fix that, but I also think that updating UI to make this clear is not worth it. |
