Chrome Version: 68.0.3427.0, 68.0.3423.2, 67.0.3396.40, 66.0.3359.170
OS: Windows, Mac and Debian Rodete
Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Chrome application.
2. Login to any Gmail account - www.mail.google.com (Account which is not logged in any where and for the account 'Sound for incoming messages' is enabled)
3. Minimize the browser.
4. Send a chat message from any other Google account to the account considered in Step #2.
What is the expected result?
A notification sound should be heard so that user comes to know that a message is received.
What happens instead?
Message is received by the user. But, the notification sound is not received.
Note:
1. This behavior is not consistently reproduced.
2. In my instance, issue is not reproduced on Canary market build (#68.0.3326.0). However, reproduced on equivalent signed build, market beta build (#67.0.3396.40)
3. Reproduced on Chrome Stable (#66.0.3359.170) in Mac.
4. Reproduced on market Stable, Bata, Dev on Debian Rodete.
5. Attached the GPU’s of the machines where the issue is reproduced.
6. Tried with different test accounts - axsysmob1@gmail.com, mylongestemailaddresspraphulla@gmail.com, abtpraf@gmail.com, etouchkiran@gmail.com.
7. Same behavior is observed even if the message is sent from FireFox browser.
8. Other observation is when message is received there is no ’Speaker’ icon i.e. sound is not received.
9. Attached the GPU of tested Mac, Windows and Debian Rodete machines.
Thanks!
