Cross-domain iframe content disappears at certain zoom level (embedded in a not responsive page)

Reported by vincenzo...@lightstreamer.com, May 11 2018

Issue description

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Setup a local webserver which serves main.html and frame.html at port 3000.
2. Open the url http://10.0.2.2.xip.io:3000/main.html from Chrome on the android emulator.
3. Try to zoom the page in order to show better the iframe in the page.

What is the expected behavior?
The counter inside the iframe is shown and updated at each seconds.

What went wrong?
Sometimes, at certain zoom level, the content of the iframe disappears.
I see the iframe borders but not the content.

Did this work before? Yes 55.0.2883.91

Chrome version: 66.0.3359.158 Channel: stable
OS Version: 7.1.1
Flash Version:

Inspecting the DOM is see that it is updated, but the not view.
If the pages share the domain there is no problem.

main.html

frame.html
376 bytes View Download

32.3 KB View Download

This happens when the position of the iframe is fixed.

As this issue requires local server and Android emulator setup to check the issue, adding TE-NeedsTriageHelp label for further triaging of the issue.

Thanks!!

Seems like a OOPIF problem given the requirement for different domains. Not sure who triages that.

#4: site isolation isn't on in Android M66, so this shouldn't be related to OOPIFs unless the reporter has turned it on manually. We are currently running an Android site isolation trial, but that is on canary (M69) only.

vincenzo.dippolito@lightstreamer.com, do you have chrome://flags/#enable-site-per-process turned on by any chance?

+wjmaclean@, who has worked on OOPIF zoom, just in case.
That's a rather bizarre z-index in the main.html file for the iframe ... is it needed for repro?
Strict site isolation is disabled.

The z-index can be removed for the test.
