Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/65.0.3325.181 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Install the attached extension 2. Open a new tab 3. Notice a white background/flash before the rendering starts What is the expected behavior? No white flash / white background before the page is rendered at least for extensions / locally accessible new tab pages. What went wrong? Visible white background before the page is rendered. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 65.0.3325.181 Channel: n/a OS Version: Flash Version: This bug is a follow-up for issue 834449 : https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=834449 A regression which is now marked as fixed for Linux and Windows. As mentioned in comments #11 and #32: * The problem is *not* fixed for macOS (#32) * For macOS the problem exists 'forever' at least since M-60 (#11) So as suggested in comment #45 I filed this separate bug report to address the issue. I cannot provide any test results myself, because I do not own a Mac. So it would be awesome if someone else could confirm that.

Able to reproduce the issue on Mac 10.13.3 using chrome stable version #64.0.3282.186 and latest canary #68.0.3430.0. This is a non-regression issue as it is observed from M60 old builds. Hence, marking it as untriaged to get more inputs from dev team. Thanks...!!

Please try on Chrome 68 Canary -- flashes at navigation have been addressed recently.

The flash appears when opening a new tab and not during navigation. |
