Thanks for filing the issue! Unable to reproduce the issue on reported chrome version 66.0.3359.139 using Windows 10, i.e., we are able to see the text properly without any fragmented text. @Reporter: Could you please let us know if this issue is seen on every web page or any specific page(s). If it is only seen on specific pages, it would be highly helpful if shared with those URLs which helps us to triage the issue in a better way. Any further inputs from your your end may be helpful.

Thank you. The fragmented text was seen on every page. Refreshing the page would restore the text for a moment, then it would break up again. This version of Chromium was put in by the first mentioned 'sync' installer on the Woolsys site. Because it was unreadable, I couldn't use it to report the fault, and this is sent from a different machine. For that reason I may not have quoted the Flash version correctly. On the same machine, other browsers including Chrome worked OK.

Thanks. Will have to wait a few days before I can supply this, as I was installing Chromium for a client and she has gone away with the machine. But I think this problem is weird enough to be interesting, and will get back to this thread as soon as I can.

Many thanks for your help. The display fault has now started occurring in Chrome as well as Chromium. So it's not a specifically Chromium issue, and is evidently caused by some weird Windows 10 trouble maybe to do with TrueType rendering. I have never seen anything like this in 35 years of using computers, but Windows 10 is an endless source of unpleasant surprises.

As per you comment #9 we have tested and unable to reproduce this issue on reported chrome version 66.0.3359.139 using Windows 10. Steps: ----------- 1. Enabled ClearType test on Windows 10 2. Launched chrome 3. Refreshed by hitting F5 We have observed that test is visible normally. @Reporter: Could you please let us know that we should use only TrueType only. If possible please provide ""Chrome://gpu"" details. Thanks..!
