No way to view image hovertext in tablet mode

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Visit xkcd.com
2. long press image with finger

What is the expected behavior?
hovertext pops up as on Android

What went wrong?
No hovertext

Did this work before? No

In case it's not clear, this is on a Pixelbook.

Any updates here? This is a pretty bad bug but should be an easy to fix.
