500 errors and stale comments on crbug |

Issue descriptionI think this may be related to the database change made last night. I'm seeing frequent 500 errors. I'm also seeing stale pages where I leave a comment but the comment does not show up until I refresh the page a second time.

We have a fix for this already landed. It should be deployed today. This is caused by DB replication lag. It has been a problem for a while, sometimes worse than other times. The schema changes made last night should not have affected it (other than lag that occurred during the maintenance window itself).

Correction: This is not the normal problem of replication lag because it happens repeatedly. I am looking for the cause. The fix for the lag should in fact resolve this problem. But, I also want to find the cause.

It was not the normal DB replication lag, it was a completely stuck DB replica. It affected both comments and search results. Please see issue 841457 for further details about the cause. |
