check whether /tmp/machine-info can be deprecated now that the serial is whitelisted

Mattias, Mike, do you know off-hand whether there's a good reason for keeping the /tmp/machine-info mechanism around now that the serial is not filtered anymore?

Chrome still consumes it afaict. would be nice to get it to stop or change it to another datastore that isn't in /tmp.
There is /mnt/stateful_partition/unencrypted/cache/vpd/filtered.txt which contains the whitelisted VPD entries and which is ingested by StatisticsProvider as well. If we find something that is not contained there, we could move it there.

I guess to rephrase my question: Now that the serial number is whitelisted, is there any merit in the delete-after-login logic for /tmp/machine info which is leaky anyways because StatisticsProvider caches the contents of /tmp/machine-info as long as Chrome isn't restarted?
