Hi Guys!
I'm a web designer and I'm using Inspect Element too much, Since Chrome v66 I noticed that the editing CSS properties in Inspect Element window became too slow and I had to wait up to 6 or 7 seconds may be more to see a letter I wrote, I record a video and attached.
Note: I try to disable option [Use hardware acceleration when available] but it corrupt all animations that I made in my design.
Kindly watch the issue in video attached.
My System:
Core i7
RAM 16 GB
SSD Drive
Windows 8.1
Chrome v66.0.3359.139 (64-bit)
Does anyone have this issue??
Thanks for your help.

serpentsoft@ Thanks for the issue. Tested this issue on Windows 10 on the reported version 66.0.3359.139 and the latest Canary 68.0.3425.0 and unable to reproduce the issue. Cannot observe any lag while writing CSS properties in Inspect Element window. Attached is the screen cast for reference. Request you to retry the issue on a new chrome profile without any flags/extensions and update the thread with the observations. Thanks..

Unable to repro either. :-/ Can you please help us debug the issue. Follow the steps: 1. Open and undock DevTools #1 2. Press Ctrl+Shift+I in DevTools #1 to open DevTools #2. 3. In DevTools #2 on Performance panel start recording. 4. Reproduce the issue in DevTools #1 5. Stop perf recording in DevTools #2, save the profile and attach it to this bug report. Thanks.

I'm on OSX, but I've also recently experienced serious lag when editing css in the devtools. Here's a profile where it hung for quite a long time when changing the vertical-align property: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rgvf0elwtlv1i3m/Profile-20180618T213513?dl=0 It appears that the change is causing the css text to update (expected), but that is then causing `_updateSwatches` to update a bunch of color swatches, leading to some GC. |
