Inside a popup.html, create a simple <input type="file"> 2. Attach .onchange event with FileReader, to display the contents of the file 3. Click "browse" and select your file What is the expected behavior? After selecting the file, the page should process it's contents, and display them on the page. See video (Windows, correct behavior): https://i.imgur.com/yUWRm80.gifv What went wrong? Opening the file picker causes the popup.html window to lose focus, closing it and destroying any events associated with the file element. Able to reproduce the issue on Ubuntu 17.10 using chrome reported version #66.0.3359.139 and latest canary #68.0.3424.0. Issue is specific to OS-linux. This is a non-regression issue as it is observed from M60 old builds. Hence, marking it as untriaged to get more inputs from dev team. Thanks...!!

This is definitely something that would be nice to fix, but we probably won't get to it in the immediate future. Marking as available in case anyone wants to jump on this.
