Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/67.0.3396.30 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://twitter.com/ Steps to reproduce the problem: I'm just reading sites, and when I read twitter (or facebook), the mouse scrolling function suddenly stops. I can pull the scrollbar and that works, space and shift+space also works. Refreshing the site solves for a short time Also I am sure it isn't the mouse. When I change to an other tab in the same browser, the same mouse scrolls perfectly. I experience the same problem from my workplace, different computer, different op system (win8.1) and different chrome (32bit) What is the expected behavior? Scrolling button works as intended. What went wrong? Freezes Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? Yes Can't remember Does this work in other browsers? N/A Chrome version: 67.0.3396.30 Channel: beta OS Version: 6.1 (Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2) Flash Version: I asked the google twitter account for helping me with the troubleshooting, I followed the instructions, here is the list I have done: https://twitter.com/KekPafrany/status/987632372052119552 (turned off addons and even reinstalling the browser)

Are you using a mouse wheel or trackpad to scroll? Does it help if you go to chrome://flags/#smooth-scrolling, disable smooth scrolling, and restart the browser? If you could, please attach a trace using these instructions: https://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/submitting-a-performance-bug. This sounds like another instance of issue 835827 but lets gather some data here before duplicating.

Unable to reproduce the issue reported version on 67.0.3396.30 using Win 7 & 10. Attaching Screencast for reference. Steps -------- 1. Launched Chrome 2. Logged in to the twitter and facebook accounts. 3. Observed the Scrolling button works as expected. As we are unable to reproduce the issue from our end. Can you verify this issue with fresh profile that is not having any extensions and apps or reset all the flags. Let us know whether issue still persists. Thanks!

Adding Screencast for the comment #4

Hi, I use the mouse wheel. I tried to turn off the smooth scrolling. Scrolling becomes really ugly then, but it seems to work, I mean no freeze. When I turned it back to "default", I could reproduce the issue again. What do you mean with fresh profile? I earlier reinstalled the chrome, honestly I don't know what my previous chrome version was, I'm sure it wasn't a beta. And tried out with all the extension turned off. It doesn't help me to understand the problem that the freezing comes randomly, I mean sometimes I got it at the first twitter post, sometimes it needs minutes, or even more.
