Feedback from Weltrend: Hello, Sam, Good day! We ran the pre-test of Ellisys and GRL in our internal test department. The 45W FW was MP in last year before PD3.0 was finalized; therefore, there’s still a few testing updates between now and then. We might need to update the FW if we want to pass the current PD test requests. Failed reasons and solutions: 1. The Ellisys failed at the VDM response and retransmission a. The reason for VDM response fail is because the USB PD SPEC was not clear defined the response when asking the VDM test item and was defined in later USB PD SPEC. The solution is to feedback “support” or “not support” for VDM test item. b. The reason for retransmission fail is because Ellisys test SPEC changed. The solution is to speed up the main clock to meet the change. 2. The GRL failed at the Power_Primary section a. This fail is because GRL has its own required cable for testing.
