Reported by froz...@gmail.com, May 4 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/66.0.3359.139 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. html: <p>some text</p>
2. js:
var pNode = document.querySelector('p');
var text = pNode.childNodes[0];
text.splitText(5);
text.splitText(4);

console.log('child count', pNode.childNodes.length);
3. open devtools
4. check html tree

What is the expected behavior?
3 node appear
( 2 nodes with text and 1 node with spaces )

What went wrong?
only 2 nodes appear

Did this work before? N/A

Looks like a duplicate of bug 823106 in a sense that the fix would work for both cases.
