speechsynthesisutterance webview not working in android

Device name: MI A1
Android version: 8.0.0
WebView version (from system settings -> Apps -> Android System WebView): 64.0.3282.137

Steps to reproduce:

(2)
(3)

Expected result: speechsynthesisutterance enabled html page load successfully and speak the given words.


Actual result: page load successfully but it not speaking anything in android webview

Are you feature-detecting the API correctly? The speech APIs are not supported in WebView: see issue 487255.

If the APIs are absent that's working as expected. If there's an API which is present but not working, please can you specify more precisely what it is (ideally an example JS) so we can investigate?
