pressing Launcher (shelf button or keyboard search key) crashes chrome - chrome restarts

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. click the shelf launcher button or press the keyboard search key -> black screen, chrome restarts
2.

What is the expected behavior?
the chromebook app launcher should start

What went wrong?
black screen - chrome restarts
note - chromebook does not restart, I get a black screen, then the chrome browser restarts

Did this work before? Yes last installed release of chrome OS 66 beta on veyron_minnie

Chrome version: 67.0.3396.26  Channel: beta
OS Version: 10575.22.0
Flash Version: 29.0.0.168 

can only access android apps which are pinned to the shelf, now using "Apps Launcher" extension from chrome web store to start chrome apps

Same, Beta on Asus C302. Pressing either the Search key or the actual on screen Launcher shortcut causes Chromebook to momentarily freeze and the browser restarts.

issue persists with chrome os Version 67.0.3396.49 (Official Build) beta (32-bit).

Powerwash does not resolve issue

Until we get a crash report we can't fix this. I've tried reproing on different devices but cannot get a repro.

my apologies for not responding earlier to the request for crash reports. due to my inability to use the launcher, and the failure of powerwash to resolve the issue, I have returned to stable channel (which does resolve the issue). as a result of powerwashing and/or stable channel, chrome://crashes is empty...

Status: WontFix (was: Unconfirmed)
Closing due to lack of crash reports. Reporter has changed channels and it no longer reproduces.
