Too much space and cropped icons in the bookmarks bar.

Reported by ad...@murielfrenchcouture.fr, Apr 30 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/68.0.3414.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
Simply update from 68.0.3404.0 (#552599) to chromium 68.0.3406.0 (#553004)

What is the expected behavior?
A bookmark bar with a rational and reasonable space that fit 16x16 pixels favicons without distorting or cropping them.

See Firefox bookmarks bar for sample.

What went wrong?
See attached file for comparison.

Did this work before? Yes Need a bissec, but between  68.0.3404.0 (#552599)  <-- & --> 68.0.3406.0 (#553004)

Chrome version: 68.0.3414.0 Channel: canary
OS Version: 6.3
Flash Version: No flash

I am a French sewing old lady cats with great tastes. So my point of view in UI is relevant ;)

Do not listen to geeks talking about touchscreen or excuses like that ! :)

Please copy the firefox bookmarks bar design !

Hello and thank you for always reply to all issues without exceptions!

In this issue I complain about 2 problems:

————————————————
1 / Cropped:

It's a bug. Indeed similar to issue 837891 : you right.

And I confirm that it is FIXED in the latest version of Chrome (I tested 68.0.3418.0 # 555327)

————————————————
2 / Horizontal Padding:

It is an aesthetic problem and not a bug.

I need to research here if there is a issue on which I can participate in the debate to try to convince Chromium’s Team to set up a flag that would permit to choose between [wide] or [tight] to adjust the padding between the icons in the bookmarks bar.

Something like the flag [#omnibox-ui-vertical-margin] that changes the vertical margin in the Omnibox UI in pixels (4,6,8,10,12,14)

Why not [#bookmarks-bar-ui-horizontal-icons-padding] that changes the horizontal padding beetween icons in pixels (2,4,6,8,10,12) ?

————————————————
In short, as there it only left a question about UI apparence and the bug is FIXED you can close this issue and mark it as FIXED or WON’T FIX.

Thank you !
