Issue descriptionChrome Version:68.0.3406.0 (Official Build)Revision 80672a4583963b6aa35cb10e9c629bb8638057c2-refs/heads/master@{#553301} (32/64-bit) OS:Win(7,8,8.1,10) What steps will reproduce the problem? (1)Launch chrome and navigate to chrome://settings/ > Languages and select 'French' language from 'Add languages' list. (2)Click on iron icon of french language and click on 'display google chrome...' > relaunch (3)Navigate to chrome://settings/ > click on Main menu, hover mouse on extensions options, observe tooltip Actual: Localization is not applied for tooltip after mouse hover on extensions option. Expected: Localization is should be applied for tooltip after mouse hover on extensions option. This is a regression issue broken in 'M68' and below is the manual bisect info: Good Build: 68.0.3400.0 (Revision:551876) Bad Build: 68.0.3402.0 (Revision:552545) Note: Issue not seen on Mac(10.12.6, 10.13.1, 10.13.5) and Linux (14.04 LTS)OS.

Is there a next step I need to take to get a localized string translated? I added the string to https://cs.chromium.org/chromium/src/chrome/app/settings_strings.grdp?type=cs&q=IDS_SETTINGS_MENU_EXTENSIONS_LINK_TOOLTIP&sq=package:chromium&l=518

The tooltip text is a new string that has not yet been translated. I do not have an estimate when the translation will take place. Until it is translated, the English string is used as a fallback. |
