Issue descriptionChrome Version : 67.0.3396.18 OS Version: URLs (if applicable) : https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/switch-to-tab/gbfhhcljihbgcobpfnceegfmooomhhli Other browsers tested: Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Safari: N/A Firefox: N/A IE/Edge: N/A What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Open https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/switch-to-tab/gbfhhcljihbgcobpfnceegfmooomhhli 2. Install the extension. What is the expected result? Extension is installed What happens instead of that? Installation fails with an "invalid manifest" error. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. I have had this extension installed for years. Suddenly this has disappeared from my profiles. Reinstallation fails. Looking at the listing, this extension was last changed in 2011. This is caused by the work in issue 816677 - manifest v1 extensions are no longer supported. Ideally an explanation should be displayed or linked to, that describes why this happens and what extension authors can do to fix it, including common pitfalls of transitioning like web_accessible_resources.

This is a manifest v1 extension, which has been publicly deprecated for several years. [1] Revision 6c5c219bd2ad58651dcb596b1211ce948d67a53a finally removed the ability to load these extensions. This is working as intended. [1] https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/manifestVersion
