[MacViews-Browser] Regression: Omnibox Focus Ring disappears when you click on an icon which shows a bubble |
||||||
Issue descriptionChrome Version: Canary 68.0.3405.0 OS: macOS 10.12.6 What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Enable MacViews-Browser (2) Open a Window (3) Click into the Omnibox, so that the blue Focus Ring appears (4) Now click on the Lock icon, or Bookmarks Star or the Profile Button so that the Bubble appears What is the expected result? The Omnibox Focus Ring should stay. What happens instead? The Omnibox Focus Ring disappears until you close the Bubble again. This seems to be regression in recent Canary with enabled MacViews-Browser Mode. A screencast is attached. Thanks, Mehmet

Thanks for the report. Hmm. I'm not 100% sure what the proper behavior is here - when these dialogs are open, the omnibox does not have focus and therefore it showing the focus ring would be weird. In any case, I don't think this behavior is bad per se, just odd.

Yes, currently it is a mix: Some dialogs make the focus ring disappear (e.g. some extension icons or the Profile Button), some dialogs not (e.g. Bookmarks Bar Folder, Settings Icon or generally right-click dialogs). I personally prefer the (old) behavior like in Cocoa Mode -> Always showing the focus ring :-) The current mixed behavior is as you said a little bit odd :-( Thanks for listening :-)

The behavior seems a lot more consistent to me now - I'm not sure why. In any case, WontFix - I am fine with the focus ring not showing when a bubble is open. |
