Unable to restore Geolocation permission for localhost site

Reported by j.oliv...@sbetg.com, Apr 19 2018

Issue description

Chrome Version : <Copy from: '65.0.3325.181 (Build officiel) (64 bits) (cohort: Stable)'>
URLs (if applicable) : https://localhost/
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:
     Safari:
    Firefox:
       Edge:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) HTTPS web site running on localhost (https://localhost) with valid root certificates to allow geolocation API to work.
(2) sample website requering geolocation through 'navigator.geolocation.getCurrentPosition(...)'
(3) User cancel 3 times the geolocation security popup, position is blocked as expected, but impossible to restore as 'unblocked' following instructions of 'https://www.chromestatus.com/features/6443143280984064' by "changing the permission's setting in the lock icon's page info dialog".

What is the expected result?
Geolocation shouldn't be blocked the next time the page is loaded.

What happens instead?
Geolocation is always blocked without prior asking for user request.
Debug console shows security message "Geolocation permission has been blocked as the user has dismissed the permission prompt several times. See https://www.chromestatus.com/features/6443143280984064 for more information."

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
"localhost" does not show in the list of blocked sites, therefore there is no alternative than resetting Chrome entirely.
Clearing site data don't help.

You should be able to restore the permission from the Page Info dialog when you click the lock icon, as the console message says. Does that not work for you? See attached screenshot. (This is in 68.0.3429.0.)

@est...@chromium.org :

Thank you, my Chrome was since upgraded to 66.0.3359.139 and now it works, i tried that in previous version but think it failed.

That's not an issue anymore, i can continue developping my web apps from Chromium.

Thank you very much for your time and best regards.
