Selecting an NTP in the Android tab switcher sometimes shows empty Omnibox during animation

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Open a few of NTPs in the Chrome for Android tab switcher using the new tab button.
(2) Repeatedly open the tab switcher and switch to another tab.

What is the expected result?

The toolbar should fade out to gray (to match the background of the NTP).


What happens instead?

Sometimes an empty Omnibox appears during the animation.

Our toolbar code is likely confused about which texture to show during this transition. Can you grab a video please?
