Web monospace fonts are not monospace on macOS 10.13.5 beta

Chrome: 68.0.3397.0

"font-family: monospace" uses a font that is clearly not monospace, which affects (e.g.) chrome://version. Safari is not affected by this.

The test page I used was:

data:text/html,<body style="font-family: monospace">iiiiiiii<br>xxxxxxxx</body>

Screenshots of this page in Safari and Chrome are attached.

This bug does *not* affect Chrome 65.0.3325.181 on the same release.

Thanks for the heads up. I currently do not have access to the macOS 10.13.5 Beta 17F35e configuration. Do you run this in a VM / non-corp?

This is a non-corp development machine, yeah.
