Chrome freezes temporarily on Twitch

Reported by vignesh...@outlook.com, Apr 15 2018

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/65.0.3325.181 Safari/537.36

Example URL:
twitch.tv

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Watch a Twitch stream with the player active
2. Minimize the page, open a new tab, or access a different webpage

What is the expected behavior?
Chrome should operate normally and perform those functions

What went wrong?
The browser does those functions, however & occasionally, Chrome will freeze temporarily and when it unfreezes, the Twitch player turns green and a error message "Rats! WebGL hit a snag!" appears at the top of the page.

Does it occur on multiple sites: No

Is it a problem with a plugin? N/A

Did this work before? Yes N/A

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 65.0.3325.181 Channel: stable
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version:

This problem still occurs when Chrome is clean installed and has no existing data like cache, cookies, autofill history, extensions, etc.

I have some additional info from Chrome's logs with --enable-logging --v=1

When the issue occurs, the logs repeatedly say:
"[10364:1264:0415/193856.677:ERROR:gles2_cmd_decoder.cc(18268)] [.DisplayCompositor-0000023D74FE0180]GL ERROR :GL_INVALID_OPERATION : glCreateAndConsumeTextureCHROMIUM: invalid mailbox name"

I'm having trouble pinpointing the culprit, be it software or hardware side.

vigneshkum@ Thanks for the issue.

Tested this issue on Windows 10 on the reported version 65.0.3325.181 and the latest canary 68.0.3397.0 and unable to reproduce the issue.

Cannot observe any crash or frezzing of Chrome on watching a stream on twitch.tv and opening a new tab, Minimising the page, or accessing a different webpage.

As the Crash IDs are given in comment #1, adding TE-NeedsTriageFromHYD label and requesting someone from Inhouse team to look into the issue and help in further triaging.

Thanks..

What I posted previously was when the browser unfreezes itself and the player turns green, here's what happens when the browser is frozen according to Sawbuck.
