Issue descriptionChrome Version : 66.0.3359.106 URLs (if applicable) : reddit.com Other browsers tested: none Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you have tested this issue: Safari: N/A Firefox: N/A Edge: N/A What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Have password/login info saved (2) Click password manager logo on URL bar and delete login info (3) Reload page (4) Open advanced options under 3 dot menu, delete all login info for reddit.com (5) Reload page What is the expected result? Autofill login and password should be blank. What happens instead? Autofill login and password is filled in with most recent username and password. Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible. Neither deleting the autofill/login from the URL bar, or the 3 dot menu advanced settings will delete it. It keeps showing back up in the 3 dot menu as well, no matter how many times it's been deleted. Reloading the page once will appear to have worked; login info will be blank. Closing the tab and reloading the page will have the login info back and fully filled in. Login info will reappear in the "manage passwords" area of advanced settings, despite having deleted it multiple times now.

Thanks for the report. Are you by chance using any other password managers (e.g., some password related extensions listed at chrome://extensions)? On which operating system do you observe this behaviour? In case you are syncing your profile data, does chrome://sync-internals/ show any errors?

(Just saw a related bug: issue 824474 .)

Not using any password managers other than the default provided by Chrome. Currently experiencing this on Linux Mint 18.3 (Ubuntu base), I haven't had a chance to test this in a Windows environment. I am using account sync; sync-internals shows SYNCER_OK for all entries with last update 1 minute ago.

Thanks for the prompt response! We are looking into another similar issue ( bug 821763 ), and I'd like to check if this has the same root cause. Could you check one more thing for me? (1) Open reddit.com in one window and chrome://settings/passwords in another window so that you can see both. (2) Do your reproduction steps in the reddit window. At the moment you click the bin icon in your step 2, do you see the credential disappear from the list in the settings page?

Does it reappear in chrome://settings/passwords exactly the moment you reload the page?

Sorry, I've been out and haven't been able to try the suggestion listed on the second to last comment yet. When I clear the password and login info, if I immediately navigate to the passwords section in chrome, the password is in fact cleared from there. But if I navigate to some other sites or close and reopen chrome, the password and login data reappears in the passwords section in chrome settings. Clearing the password from the chrome://settings/passwords pages has no different effect from clearing it on the webpage or omnibox/URL bar.

What if you - delete the credential - close the tab for this site - open the same site in another tab. Does the credential reappear?
