I think that nassh is required for crosh, so maybe it already exists?

We will not auto-download nassh. If/when we are using sshfs, nassh is not required at all. Assuming that nassh is required, the current plan is to present text/link to users during crostini install flow to install the app themselves. Nick will add text/link to crostini install flow.

the bundled crosh is only crosh (currently). there are no near term plans to change that. crosh can support vsh directly, but not ssh. that requires the nacl plugins.

Is this still a thing we want to do?

We expect to use sshfs, in which case we will not have this. But until we have sshfs running, maybe we should keep this option open since we do know that we can integrate with nassh.

In our public crostini instructions, we're currently directing people to use SFTP via the Secure Shell extension until the proper solution is ready. Closing this.
