Issue descriptionChrome Version : 66.0.3359.106 (Official Build) 580e8ed9017368bf40061fa0b9618ad381082b0a-refs/branch-heads/3359@{#693} 32/64-bit OS : Windows(7,8,8.1,10), Linux(14.04 LTS), Mac(10.12.6, 10.13.1, 10.13.5) What steps will reproduce the problem? 1. Launch chrome and navigate to chrome://settings/searchEngines page and set 'Bing' as default search engine. 2. Open NTP and remove any one default 'Thumbnail' using 'X' icon. 3. Click on 'Restore all' link and click on browser's back arrow button. 4. Observe the 'Thumbnails'. Actual Result : 'Thumbnail' title disappears after clicking on browser's back arrow button. Expected Result : 'Thumbnail' title should not disappear after clicking on back navigation arrow button. This is a non-regression issue seen from M-60 series build #60.0.3072.0 Note : Issue is also observed on Canary #67.0.3395.0, Dev #67.0.3393.4 and Stable #65.0.3325.181 builds.

This occurs on M69 as well, but I think it's due to the implementation of the 3rd party NTP. As a comparison, set DSP to Yahoo, and observe different behavior (as in attached screencast). Given these findings, I'm marking this WontFix, but +Yana in case you think it's worth looking into.

Just to confirm: does this issue occur on all 3rd party NTPs?

The issue occurs Bing's NTP but not on Yahoo's (where deleting / restoring a thumbnail does not alter the tab's history). I haven't looked at other 3rd party NTPs.

Gotcha, in that case it seems that the fault if with the particular implementation. Agree with Won't Fix. |
