Chrome Webview on Google Pixel devices crashes with a native crash

Reported by shya...@spinrilla.com, Apr 11 2018

Issue description

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open any Android application that contains webviews
2. Navigate back and forth from webview activity
3. Notice rare random crashes

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
I am seeing the attached crash data in the Android Dev console for crashes which seem to be related to the Chrome Webview. The only stacktrace that is provided is as follows

*** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** *** ***

  #01  pc 0000000000914fe4  /data/app/com.android.chrome-YenxOOHTSrhrnzeAyeTqQg==/base.apk

As seen in the attached screenshot the issue seems to be limited to Google Pixel devices
