This does not reproduce with the same Chrome version on a Pixel 2 with Android O.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Enable the WebVR and WebVR gamepad extensions flags in Chrome.
(2) Go to https://playcanv.as/p/sAsiDvtC/

What is the expected result? You should see a grey VR icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.

What happens instead? The grey VR icon is missing and the screen has some intermittent flashing. If you click in the area where the icon should be, you do enter VR, so the button is there, it just isn't visible.
