mkarras@ Thanks for the issue. Tested this issue on Windows 10 and Mac OS 10.12.6 on the reported version 65.0.3325.181 and the latest Canary 67.0.3393.0 and unable to reproduce the issue. On logging into Gmail and restarting the system and then again launching Chrome, can open Gmail without entering the username and password. Request you to retry the issue on a new chrome profile without any flags/extensions and update the thread with the observations. Thanks..

Hello Susan, The problem is not fixed. I followed your instructions and signed in with a new username. I closed chrome and had to reenter my login credentials as I had to before with the other username. Please advise. Thanks. Maria

Thanks for your report. A couple of things to check: 1) Can you check chrome://settings/content/cookies and see what the values of the top three switches are? In particular, check what "Keep local data only until you quit your browser" and "Block third-party cookies" are set to. 2) Do you have any extensions installed? If so, can you try disabling them via chrome://extensions, restarting Chrome, and then seeing if the problem persists? Thanks!

#7: the top three are *all* on? Meaning "Keep local data only until you quit your browser" is set to on (the switch is blue)?

Hello lgrey@chromium.org, Your comments, 13, 15 and 16 make no sense to me. I continue to have the same issue, i.e., chrome does not keep mkarras@gmail.com logged in. So, when I close the browser and/or computer, and go to gmail again, chrome requires that I enter my user name (mkarras) and the password. Can you help me solve this problem? Thanks. Maria

Your comment 18 is not helpful. When I go to https://www.chromium.org/issue-tracking/autotriage, it makes no sense to me. Please explain what that page means. If it has instructions for actions to take, explain that as well. Thanks. Maria

Thank you for your report and sorry for the inconvenience.
The screenshot of chrome://settings/content/cookies that you've provided in #10 shows that your Chrome is configured to wipe cookies and other data when the browser is closed.
Can you please turn off switches 2 ("Keep local data only until you quit your browser") & 3 ("Block third-party cookies") and try reproducing the issue?
