Typing CC numbers in while "Scan new card" throws user out of VR Browsing

Project Member Reported by dougman@chromium.org, Apr 9 2018

Issue description

Chrome Version: 67.0.3390.1 Canary
OS: Android 8.1.0 on Pixel 2

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Navigate to https://rsolomakhin.github.io/autofill/
(2) Enter VR Browsing
(3) Go to "Credit Card autofill" type "1" into the "Credit card number:" field. This should bring up the "Scan new card" list.
Attached image is at this point, prior to step(4).
(4) While the list is present type additional numbers.

What is the expected result?
The "Scan new card" list either stays or is dismissed. The additional numbers should be added to the "Credit card number:" field.

What happens instead?
The VR Browsing session is closed closing Chrome.

I can not reproduce this anymore.
I think this patch has fixed the problem:

Fix verified in build 67.0.3393.1 Canary.
The popup appears but does not crash when typing additional characters into the CC dialog. Even tried typing several characters which causes the popup to dismiss as expected, then backspace to a point where adding a new character causes the popup to reappear. Everything looks good.
