If this is still reproducible, it might help to get a crash ID per the instructions on https://www.chromium.org/for-testers/bug-reporting-guidelines/reporting-crash-bug . That ought to provide a stack trace.

Chrome no longer crashes but the popup still happens. Clicking any link in a page that triggers a new page displays the popup. Many updates later, half a dozen powerwashes, guest mode, different users and it still appears. I first reported this in Canary, but it also has been reported in other channels.

On a quest to track this down. I disabled all my extensions, reset all my flags, and restarted. The popups still occurred. I added a second user and enabled the Play Store. I installed the LastPass app, which is top in the list of apps that will prompt the popup. Clicking a link did indeed present the popup. This time, when I checked the "stay in Chrome", no more popups. I went back to my login and started removing Android apps. I removed quite a number. This time when I clicked on a link and checked the "stay in Chrome" box the popups stopped. There is some Android/Chrome OS interface that doesn't work well with some app. I am just updating this for future reference. |
